Accepted Angelic and have appear. According also a Seraphim and as another angels are Archangels, are Cherubim Ark was like the lustre of burnished bronze “As for their wings, they were separated: above, each had two touching those of the others, while the other two covered its body."
I've not been online for a while, so I've been doing my NaPoWriMo's in a notebook. It's been good to scribble out and cross lines out the old-fashioned way, instead of just deleting. I'll post them all today.
My experiment to write a novel in 30 days has come a cropper. There's 6 days left and I'm only halfway through. I've finally stopped beating myself up about it though. I totally chose the wrong month to write a novel: work is busy at the moment and I'm buying a house!
I am very pleased with what I've done so far, but I'm still upset with myself for having to change the terms of the contract. I'm now going to try and write (at least) a thousand words every day until it is finished. I've made sure I've written all the major parts of the story, and I'm now drawing everything together, filling in the gaps, and starting to arrange the chapters.
It's gone off in a lot of different directions, and surprised me in many ways too: one character who was alwasy going to die, didn't. I ended up really liking the character and found it easy to write him - and I want to write about him again, but I wouldn't be able to if I knew he'd end up dead. Also a new character appeared, and I don't know where she came from. She's going to stick around too.
I wish ìt could all have been done in the 30 days, but this month hasn't allowed - but I have the bare bones, and a lot to work with. I should be thankful for that.
I've just bought a house, so the theme this week is 'houses'.
Okay, from top left: A little gingerbread house felt decoration. You hang this little hand sewn house plaque thing up on a wall. So wonky and cute! Recycled wooden insect house, for bees and ladybirds. Awww. Papier maché house thing (I included this 'cos I want it in my new house!) What a lovely hand sewn house brooch. My absolute fave - three delightfully eccentric ceramic houses (in fact, everything in this shop is fab).
I've been planning a tree, not too big, or small, for my garden. The one there already will be lonely. I want a pear tree with golden pears, or a fairy that lives in its branches. I want to climb up, far up away from my little garden; and to look down on Splott as a postage stamp, road and fields like pocket handkerchiefs.
I've always loved Where The Wild Things Are since I was little, and I was very excited when I heard Spike Jonze was making a film of it. For some reason or other I never got round to going to the cinema to see the film, but I finally watched it last weekend. I woke up early on Saturday in a bad mood and not feeling well either, so I put Wild Things on. Oh my goodness, I loved it. I loved everything about it. I have since bought my own copy and the soundtrack. I've even ordered the Xbox game from Amazon (because I saw it for £10).
Things sometimes turn to shit, and you need cheering up.
So the theme this week is 'cheerful'. St Dwynwen is a lovely Welsh Saint, and she said “Nothing wins hearts like cheerfulness”. What a lovely sentiment.
Okay, from top left:
Felt Rosette brooches. Perfect for giving yourself a prize! Tiny 'pups and pusses' in a display case. So cute! Happy little clowns, guaranteed to cheer you up. This is gorgeous - a little paper theatre, complete with little rabbits (or are they hares?)
Written for my friends Tarina and James, and my newest friend Ethan.
Haiku for good news
Tiny little man, welcome to the sunny world. Your soft face creases into a shy smile as you cling to your father, while mum has a sleep. You'll soon meet the rest: grandparents and family. You're our newest friend.
A finger through the sky and pushing stones, an architecht making by playing toddler. Here is a hill, and here is a house. The leaves of the grasses are minute, help to scale the terrain. I feel like a god, stirring clouds with my finger like cream through coffee. I am Zeus, pointing down into the jar; waiting for Ganymede.
I'm sure the rules say you can write in languages other than English. Here's a Welsh one.
Hi a'r enw Gog
Hoffwn awgrymu ond dydy fy syniadau i ddim yn ddigon cas, hoffwn weld ti yn y stryd heb dy ddillad; yn y pwll nofio gyda siarc; yn Rhydaman heb dy ffrindiau. Mae’n un peth i waeddu ‘blaidd’, ond yn rhywbeth arall i gnuchi’r blaidd lan lofft. Cewn ni geiriau gwd gyrl. Cewn ni sgwrs.
Missed another Folksy Friday due to being super busy. So instead, I did a search for egg-related goodies on Folksy, and here are my faves.
Theme this week is 'eggs', duh!
Okay, from top left: A gorgeous necklace made from real quails eggs, blown then filled with plaster. Chocolate egg bath bombs. Lush! Cute egg necklace. Chocolate-scented egg candle. Genius idea. A beautiful handmade porcelain egg, assembled in a deep frame. Really delicate. I wish men could get away with wearing bonkers hats, because I would SO love to wear this bird's nest one!
I've made another terrarium. Can't seem to help myself! I'm totally out of moss and chippings now though, so it'll be a while until the next one. I'm very pleased with this one, and it's a very special one too. The little white horse is an ornament my Grandmother had, and it came to me after she died.
No, no. I'm different I know. I know what the last song's going to be. I know those things are dark, but that naivety is worn, it evolves. We speed everything up because we get too excited. It's important to be truthful in your art, I hate mainstream. I'm a complete stranger, because it allows me to share.
