Folksy Friday *16th July 2010*

I’ve missed quite a few Folksy Fridays, been busy with house stuff and work has been hectic! But I’m glad to be back in the swing of it again.

No theme this week, just fab shops that have sold under 10 things.

Okay, from top left:

Wonderful Edgar Allan Poe art box from a fantastic shop. It appeals to the goth in me (there are some awful photos of me with eyeliner and lace from when I was about 15!)
Quite possibly the cutest thing on all Folksy: Awkward Turtle. He is beautiful, not awkward at all! Everything in this shop is ridiculously low-priced, so if you want a turtle-shaped bargain, go and snap one up quick.
Beautiful watercolour from a beautiful beautiful shop. Just lovely!
I know it’s the wrong time of year, but these Easter eggs are lush. I love pretty Easter eggs and these one are amazing.

Folksy Friday *14th May 2010*

Looking forward to the weekend, even though I am skint until Monday. I plan to do some writing, crochet more of my blanket, and watch films all weekend long. Bliss.

Theme this week is ‘nonspecific fabulosity’.

Okay, from top left:
Gorgeous driftwood cupboard. Everything in this shop is beautiful.
A very clever, and beautiful, stitched bowl. there are a few in the shop and they are all lovely. I love the way they’ve been named, but the woodland one is definitely my favourite.
Bonkers! But I want one for my new house.
A pretty, tattoo-ish looking pin badge. I also love the medal brooches in this shop.
Fantastic, hand-stitched foxy brooch.
The weird, assembled dolls in this shop are genuinely astounding. I want to see/hear the story of the Clock Keepers Daughters. It sounds like it would make an amazing film – I’m imagining it to be a bit like Mirrormask (which I advise you see, if you already haven’t).

New blogs and resolutions

I never make New Year's resolutions. I used to, but would then feel disheartened when I didn't stick to them. This year, however, I'm brimming with resolutions - and not doing too badly about keeping them. So far ;)

Woke up this lovely Sunday morning full of plans to make porridge with apple sauce and cinnamon (my favourite porridge combination, although hubby has made porridge and jam for me which is also delicious) but we were so full after last night's bolognese that I just made some coffee instead and we stayed in bed and had a cwtsh.

I've been reading so many lovely blogs lately (list in a minute) that I've added a new resolution: I will blog more, take more pictures, and blog more about the crafty things I do. Here are the fab blogs I've been reading:

Creative Yarn
Little Birdie Secrets
Miss Mardi Nowak
The Small Object
Green Bee

Inspirational people, all. They've certainly inspired me. I'll be here more often. See you around I hope x
